People Centred Arts

Coaching, mentoring and development for arts leaders that inspires a people-centred, empathetic and supportive management style.

Organisational development support that transforms your company’s systems and structures so you can put your people first.

There are two strands to my work -
Inspiring Creative Leaders encompasses Coaching and Leadership Development
And Supporting Creative Companies with change management, policies, HR....

I'm now based in the New Forest, so I'm available in person across the South of England and also available remotely.

If you're thinking of coaching, why not try a walking coaching session in the New Forest...

Does this sound like you?

I’m…

- New to arts leadership or thinking of leadership as my next step
- Recently promoted
- In my first executive role
- Really experienced but would like some space for me
- Trying to decide what’s next

I'd...

- Benefit from a dedicated space to consider things I’ve not had the space to consider before
- Like to be supported, heard, known
- Like to feel and be more confident
- Like to be held accountable

I can walk alongside you and support you with coaching or coaching-led training

One person's hand on top of another as if guiding the way

Do you or your organisation need support with….

- Organisational development and growth
- Gaps in capacity, time, knowledge
- HR including policies, appraisals support, training

Or need someone who is….

A specialist in Operations, General Management, HR, Technical and Production, the arts industry

I can work alongside and support your company

About me

I’m Fiona Greenhill.

I’m a Coach and Consultant working alongside, and supporting, leaders and creative companies in the arts across Hampshire and Dorset. I now live in the New Forest so am embedding myself in the region.

I've worked in the arts for nearly 30 years, starting as Deputy Stage Manager (DSM) then Company & Stage Manager in theatre and opera - touring the UK and Europe and in the West End for just over 14 years.
In 2008, I moved into my first senior leadership role as Head of Production at the Albany, working and learning my way up to Head of Operations and producing some circus before moving to the Roundhouse as Head of Technical and Production in 2013.
Four years later I joined the Almeida to be their General Manager, soon becoming Operations Director.
I’ve worked across technical and production, operations, general management and HR.
I later trained as a coach and decided to focus on that and consultancy for my career and to start searching for that elusive work/life balance
(or life/work as I like to say).

I undertake regular CPD and supervision and I'm a Member of the Association for Coaching (MAC).

In a world where people have left and are still leaving our industry and it’s difficult to recruit almost every role
Where people want to feel that they are more important than the work on our stages
Where they’re worried about the cost of living
And are worried about the future
I wish that every arts organisation will be people focused and every arts leader will be compassionate, empathetic and supportive.

"Working with Fiona as a coach during my first Executive role was incredibly valuable. Our fortnightly sessions were a much-needed, held space to examine my practices and priorities. Her gentle questions and even more importantly, her patience and deliberate silences, helped me navigate a career transition in a way that encouraged self-care as a necessary aspect of strong leadership. Fiona's coaching helped me reveal insights that were sometimes surprising, but were also often an articulation of core values that I had not previously been able to take the time and focus to explore fully. Whether embarking on a new adventure or if you're already half way up a mountain, I wholeheartedly recommend Fiona for your support team - you'll be the stronger for it, and much more able to enjoy the views."

Executive Director

"I was really interested in the idea of coaching as I was at a moment in my career when I felt like I wanted to take a step back and look at my style, my strengths, my weaknesses etc from a bigger picture perspective.

Fiona really enabled me to do that as well as helping me deal with specific work situations in the moment. She listened with care and used the sessions to guide my thinking and the way in which I examined and thought of each situation. It was invaluable time spent on myself."
